Thigh Lift
A thigh lift, or thighplasty, reshapes the thighs by removing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and more proportionate contours for the thighs and lower body.
This procedure is ideal for those seeking a permanent solution for sagging thighs. One of its key benefits is the flexibility it offers—patients can choose to target specific areas to remove fat and tighten skin or opt for a more comprehensive 360-degree thigh sculpting.

Procedure
Candidates
Thigh lift is an ideal procedure for both men and women who;
- People whose weight is relatively stable.
- Individuals with excess soft tissue along the inner (medial) thigh region and/or the outer (lateral) thigh.
- Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing or increase risk of surgery.
- Nonsmokers.
- Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic goals for what thigh lift surgery can accomplish.
Pre-operative
Preparing for the thighplasty begins from the detailed consultation with the surgeon. During consultation, the surgeon examines the skin and every minute information about any previous or recent medical conditions of the patient, present shape and targeted reconstruction of the thighs are discussed in detail.
Once the patient is ready for thighplasty, the surgeon would provide instructions to prepare for the surgery which need to be followed with precision.
Procedure
The procedure is done under general or regional anesthesia. Depending upon the type of thigh lift procedure to be carried out, the surgeon starts making the incision lines.
Mini Thigh Lift requires a incision in the groin
Inner (Medial) Thigh Lift removes excess skin from the groin down to the knee using a vertical incision, ultimately giving the thighs a much better and contoured appearance. At the end of the procedure the incision is closed with stitches / sutures.
Post-op Care
Post surgery its best to rest at the hospital for a day or 2. The surgeon discharges the patient with the dos and don’ts to be followed until the wound is healed, which typically happens within 5-6 weeks.
Recovery
In order to recover quickly the patient must allow the legs to rest as much as possible at least for the first 15 days post surgery. Other instructions that must be taken care of include;
- Wearing pressure garments for at least 5 weeks.
- Avoiding strenuous exercise and activities.
- Following all the care instructions given by the surgeon.
Complications
Apart from the wound specific complications that may arise like dehiscence, infection and necrosis, the patient needs to be aware of other related post-op risks like;
- Vulva displacement
- Lymphedema
- Development of seroma
- Hematoma
- Lymphocele
- Scar Migration
- Hypertrophic Scarring
- Wound dehiscence
