FaceTite / NeckTite

FaceTite is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin, reduce fat, and improve facial contours. It offers a less invasive alternative to traditional facelifts with minimal downtime and a quick recovery process.

As skin ages, it loses elastin and collagen and the muscles beneath the surface stretch resulting in a droopy appearance. This treatment uses a revolutionary new radiofrequency device called EmbraceRF to eliminate fat, tighten loose skin, stimulate collagen production and enhance the natural contours of the face.

FaceTite is recommended for individuals who are looking to address mild to moderate skin laxity and fat accumulation in the face and neck areas. Ideal candidates include those who:

  • Experience sagging jowls.
  • Have loose skin on the neck or under the chin.
  • Wish to refine facial contours without undergoing a full surgical facelift.
  • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations.

Procedure

Candidates

Patients who are looking for a solution for some of the common signs of facial aging, but who do not wish (or need) to undergo surgery, usually make the best candidates for the procedure. Suitable candidates are usually late-30’s to early-50’s, who are beginning to see mild to moderate signs of facial aging such as:

  • Sagging jowls.
  • Loose skin on the neck or under the chin.
  • Wish to refine facial contours without undergoing a full surgical facelift.
  • Who have already undergone a face and neck lift, but are again developing face and neck laxity as the years have ticked on.
  • Are in good overall health with realistic expectations.

FaceTite is particularly effective for those seeking a solution that offers significant improvement without the scars, long recovery, and higher risks associated with traditional surgery.

Pre-operative

  • Avoid any facial/laser/massage/ body polishing of the treatment area before the procedure.
  • Hair in the treatment region should be shaved – not waxed or chemically removed prior.
  • Inform us prior about any medications or anti coagulants.
  • Inform us prior about any implants/fillers in the treatment area.
  • Stop smoking.

Procedure

FaceTite is typically performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia or light sedation. The entire procedure usually takes about 1-2 hours.
Small, discreet incisions are made, typically around the ears, under the chin, or in other areas where scars can be easily hidden.
A specialized FaceTite device is inserted through these incisions. It emits controlled radiofrequency energy to the underlying tissues, melting fat and stimulating collagen production. As the fat is liquefied, it is gently suctioned out, and the heat from the radiofrequency energy causes the skin and tissues to contract and tighten. The incisions are small enough, they may be closed with fine sutures or surgical tape.

Post-op Care

  • You will likely be advised to wear a compression garment around the treated areas for the first few days to help reduce swelling and support the healing tissues.
  • Mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising are common after FaceTite. Over-the-counter pain relievers or prescribed medications can be used to manage any pain.
  • It’s essential to avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, or anything that may raise your blood pressure for at least a week.
  • Light activities and walking are encouraged to promote circulation.
  • Keep the incision sites clean and dry. We provide specific skincare instructions or recommend products to aid healing.

Recovery

  • The recovery period for FaceTite is relatively short compared to more invasive procedures. Most patients experience swelling and bruising in the first few days, which gradually subsides.
  • You can return to work and normal activities within a week, depending on your comfort level. While you may notice immediate improvements, the full results of FaceTite will continue to develop over the following 3-6 months as collagen production increases and tissues continue to tighten.
  • Results from FaceTite can last several years, though the natural aging process will continue. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper skincare can help prolong the effects.

Complications

FaceTite is FDA-approved and regarded as one of the safest techniques for facial rejuvenation and contouring. The procedure utilizes radiofrequency energy, a technology that has been safely used in medical settings for decades. While the treatment generates heat through radiofrequency, which carries a minor risk of skin burns, the device is equipped with dual temperature sensors to minimize this risk. Other rare complications include uneven contouring, temporary numbness, and nerve injury, but these side effects are uncommon and typically resolve on their own.

While Thermage also uses radiofrequency energy, it delivers this energy through the skin’s surface in an attempt to tighten collagen in the deeper layers and subcutaneous tissue. However, Thermage often produces inconsistent results because the RF energy does not efficiently penetrate intact skin. Increasing the energy levels to improve effectiveness can lead to skin burns and significant discomfort. Even when successful, the results are typically mild. Additionally, Thermage treatments can be quite uncomfortable, even with the use of topical anesthetic cream, as local anesthesia is not applied. In contrast, FaceTite achieves the results that Thermage aims for but rarely delivers.

While Ultherapy and FaceTite aim to achieve similar results, they use different methods. Ultherapy employs ultrasound energy to tighten skin and reduce wrinkles, while FaceTite uses Radio Frequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL), which not only tightens deep tissue but also dissolves fat. When comparing the two, FaceTite stands out for its effectiveness, longevity, and overall value. FaceTite delivers significant, visible results that can last up to five years or more. Ultherapy, on the other hand, offers milder results that diminish after about a year, often requiring annual treatments. Although Ultherapy might seem less expensive initially, the need for multiple sessions makes it more costly in the long run, with results that are less predictable.

If you’re unsure which treatment is right for you, consider booking a consultation with Dr. Sameer, who can help you determine if FaceTite is the best option for your needs.
